HOLLAND TWP. — Michigan State Police raided a marijuana dispensary in Holland Township this week.

Police searched Pure West Compassion Clinic, 840 N. Black River Drive, Wednesday, Feb. 10.

The clinic is owned and operated by Christopher Martinez, an advocate for the legalization of marijuana in West Michigan prior to the passing of Proposal 1 in 2018.

This isn’t the first time a facility owned by Martinez has been raided. In 2016, six felony charges were filed against Martinez for marijuana obtained during a raid of his Saugatuck clinic.

Those charges were dropped in Allegan County’s 57th District Court the day before Prop. 1 passed.

According to a Michigan State Police official, the investigation is ongoing. 

Pure West Compassion Clinic — sometimes referred to as Pure West Compassion Club — is not listed under adult-use establishment or medical facility licensing through the Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency, nor is the business listed through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
